Jara Cunha

Visual Artist

Born in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro.

Jara Cunha's life journey blends leadership, resilience, and a deep love for the arts. Raised in Rio de Janeiro, her upbringing combined discipline from her Navy captain father and creativity from her sewing teacher mother. Moving to Florida in 1996, she successfully balanced raising three daughters with a 22-year career in real estate before semi-retiring to pursue her passion for art.

Though formally educated in business, Jara is self-taught in the visual arts, developing her skills through extensive research. Her vibrant artworks, often featuring emotive female figures, use mediums like acrylics, pastels, and collages. Influenced by artists like Picasso and Peter Max, her art aims to elevate and inspire.

Her Art and Desire

Jara's work has been recognized in various arts festivals and by the Academy of Sciences, Letters, and Arts of Brazil. Beyond art, she enjoys reading, hiking, and cycling, all of which reinforce her connection to life. Her art reflects this connection, embodying her reverence for existence and a desire to share beauty and peace.

Jara's belief in the transformative power of art drives her to inspire others, demonstrating that it’s never too late to follow one’s true calling.
